Reset and Thrive: Menopause Wellness Workshop

Last weekend, I had the incredible opportunity to deliver a menopause wellness workshop at a vibrant vegan festival in Oxfordshire. The experience was both empowering and heartwarming as I connected with over 250 women, all eager to learn and share their experiences. The energy in the tent was palpable, a beautiful blend of curiosity and sisterhood with a few supportive male partners joining us for the ride.

For me it was a rather nerve racking experience as this was my first workshop of this scale! My Ariana Grande head mic and lack of sleep nearly threw me off. However, the tent was filled with reassuring faces and glowing hearts that willed me on. Just two minutes in I found my flow...

During the workshop, we explored the complexities of menopause, discussing its physical and emotional impacts. The collective vibrational energy was high as we delved into how lifestyle choices can influence our experience of menopause, highlighting the power of nutrition, movement and mindfulness in enhancing our wellbeing during this unpredictable phase of life.

The most rewarding part was witnessing the collective realisation that menopause is not merely a phase to endure, but a transformative journey to embrace where we can support one another and grow as individuals. Midlife is a time to take stock and reflect, yes, but it is also a time for healing, growth and reinvention of our inner self.

We are fortunate to live in a time where menopause can be openly discussed, breaking the silence that often surrounded it in the past. It's encouraging to see that some employers are starting to offer benefits and support specifically tailored to women navigating this stage of life. These benefits can include flexible working arrangements, access to health resources, and even specialised wellness programmes.

Such initiatives not only validate the challenges many women face during menopause but also promote a more inclusive and understanding workplace culture. As we continue to have these conversations and raise awareness, we pave the way for more supportive environments both at work and in the broader community.

Our workshop was a reminder of the importance of advocating for these changes and supporting each other through this transformative journey. Together, we can create a positive narrative around menopause, focusing on empowerment, wellbeing, and the celebration of this new chapter in life.
