Watermelon Slushy Recipe

Are you fed up with plain old water and craving an afternoon treat that won’t pile on the pounds?


This super-delicious, naturally hydrating watermelon slushy recipe is the perfect summer pick-me-up - light, fruity and full of goodness.


Ingredients

🍉 1 small watermelon

🍓 200g strawberries, tops removed

🍋 Juice of 1 lime

🌱 4 fresh mint leaves, roughly chopped


Method

  1. Cut the watermelon in half. Chop one half into chunks, remove the skin, and place in a freezer bag. Freeze overnight.

  2. Store the other half in the fridge until you’re ready to use it.

  3. When making the slushy, chop the fresh (unfrozen) half of the watermelon and remove the skin.

  4. Add both the fresh and frozen melon chunks to a blender, along with the strawberries.

  5. Squeeze in the lime juice, toss in the mint leaves and blitz until smooth and slushy.

  6. Pour into a tall glass or jar, add a straw and enjoy immediately.
